My Father John Wright was one of the Engineers on the X-15 and the XB-70

His two crowning points would be the main landing gear for the two above.

He was the one who came up with the skid pad design on the X-15 over wheeled design.

On the XB-70 he came up with the twisting and turning main gear.  He also told me about a lot of the first the XB-70 had what a plane...

He also worked on the antilock braking systems we now know as ABS. He said they used F-104 as test vehicle.

I still have his X-15 tie tack.
