If US Navy Amphibious Assault Ships and Carriers were close enough to a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan, then large numbers of F-35s could likely intervene. America-class amphibious assault ships, for example, can deploy with as many as 15 F-35B and carriers can carry even more. A networked force of vertical take off and carrier-launched F-35s could quickly intervene to help establish air superiority over any potential Chinese amphibious assault invasion.
